Lorin, Paul, Pomykata Earn Wins for JHU

BALTIMORE, MD – Visiting McDaniel won seven of 10 bouts with all seven earning bonus points as the Green Terror knocked off Johns Hopkins, 31-16, in Centennial Conference wrestling action in Goldfarb Gym Friday evening.  With the win, McDaniel claims the inaugural Crab Cup, which is now presented to the winner of the annual regular season match between the Blue Jays and the Green Terror.

Where the Match Was Won
McDaniel trailed 6-4 after two bouts, but reeled off four straight wins to grab a 22-6 lead.  Ryan Athey (141), third-ranked Thomas Monn (149) and Xavier Howard (157) all won by major decision and Alex LaVeck added a third period pin to fuel the 18-point run.

After the Blue Jays sliced the deficit to 22-10 on a Joe Paul 10-1 major decision win over Dalton Pearl at 174, McDaniel wrapped up the victory with a Michael Bromley major decision at 184 and a Jaedyn Harris technical fall at 197.

Lorin, Pomykata Win by Fall for JHU
In addition to Paul's major decision victory at 174, the Blue Jays got two other victories on the night with both coming by fall.
