BALTIMORE, MD – The fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins field hockey team earned a first-round bye to the 2023 NCAA Tournament and will host the second and third rounds this weekend at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays are one of four hosts for the second and third rounds.
Hopkins is making its fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 11
th overall. The Blue Jays have advanced to the NCAA Final Four in each of their last four appearances, with back-to-back trips to the national championship game. JHU is 12-12 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with 10 of those 12 wins coming since 2018.
Hopkins will take on the winner of Endicott (16-4) and Ithaca (14-6) on Saturday in the second round. In the other half of the draw, Salisbury (13-4) will face the winner of Williams (11-7) and Worcester State (13-6). Saturday's winners will meet on Sunday at Homewood Field for the right to go to the Final Four.
The winners of the four weekend sites advance to the NCAA Final Four at Jennings Family Stadium in Newport News, VA. The national semifinals will be played on Friday, November 17 with the championship set for Sunday, November 19.
