Thomas Yu has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week. This is the third weekly conference honor of his career.
Yu led Johns Hopkins to a 4-2 week with five of the six matches coming against top-20 teams. He went 4-2 at number one singles and 5-1 at number one doubles. His only doubles loss came to the second-ranked doubles team from fifth-ranked Tufts. Yu clinched the wins over 17
th-ranked Chapman and 15
th-ranked Caltech.
Yu's singles win in the last match of the week against Whittier was the 100th win of his career. He is the fastest player in program history to 100 wins as he needed just 124 matches. He is 15-6 in singles and 19-3 in doubles so far this season.
Hopkins (9-2, 1-0 CC) returns to action on Wednesday, March 29 as the Blue Jays host the Gettysburg Bullets.
