James Yu Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins junior James Yu has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week it was announced today. This is the first weekly conference honor of his career.
 
Yu went 2-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles to help Hopkins to Centennial wins over Washington College and Haverford. He and brother Thomas lost just one game in their two wins at first doubles, defeating Washington 8-0 and Haverford 8-1. James then did not lose a set in either of his singles wins at the number three spot, securing a 6-2, 6-3 win versus Washington and a 7-5, 6-0 triumph versus Haverford. He clinched Hopkins' win over Haverford with his singles win. 
 
James Yu is 12-6 in singles and 20-4 in doubles this season. Hopkins (12-3, 4-1 CC) returns to the court on Wednesday as the Blue Jays visit Morgan State and Dickinson.
