Cooper Earns Spot on D3Baseball.com Team of the Week

Senior Blasted Four Homers and Drove in 14 Last Week

BALTIMORE, MD- Blue Jays senior left fielder Matthew Cooper earned on spot on this week's D3Baseball.com team of the week, it was announced this morning. This is D3Baseball.com's weekly honor that recognizes the top performers at each of the nine positions from the previous week, and Cooper is the first Blue Jay to receive the honor this season.
 
Cooper has been the driving force to one of the best hitting teams in the country this season. Over five games last week, Cooper went 13-for-20 (.650) with four homers and 14 RBI's. Against Dickinson, he crushed two homers in game one of a doubleheader which was his third multi-homer game of the season. Cooper is currently tied for second in the country in home runs (15) and third in batting average (.509). He continues to climb in the JHU record books with his home run output as his 15 this season are already fifth-most ever hit in a single season. Cooper's 27 career long balls are also fifth all-time on the career home run list at Johns Hopkins.
 
The Blue Jays are back in action on Friday when they travel to Westminster to wrap up their regular season series with McDaniel with first pitch coming at 3:30 pm.
