Kadiri, Phillips and Coaching Staff Earn Centennial Awards

LANCASTER, PA- The All-Centennial women's track and field team had many Johns Hopkins athletes on it after their individual performances at the Centennial Conference Championships, it was announced this morning. After winning their 13th consecutive Centennial Conference championship, the Blue Jays had a couple members receive individual awards and recognition for their impressive contributions throughout the season. Victoria Kadiri, Lauren Phillips and Bobby Van Allen and his staff were all selected for individual conference awards.

Victoria Kadiri was named the CC Field Athlete of the Year for the third time in her career after she dominated the field at the conference championships. Kadiri is the first ever three-time conference Field Athlete of the Year in program and conference history. Kadiri won five gold medals at the championships this past weekend to bring her outdoor career total to 11 gold medals, which is also a school record. Kadiri's most impressive performance was in the long jump over the weekend, which was one of her five medals. She soared to a jump of 6.33m which was a school and conference record. That jump was the second-best jump in NCAA DIII history and was the best performance since 2012. In addition, Kadiri set the school record in the triple jump this season as well with a mark of 12.82m.

Lauren Phillips became a back-to-back CC Track Athlete of the Year and the first two-time winner of the award in school history for her great performances this season. Phillips keeps the streak rolling for Johns Hopkins, who have rostered the Track Athlete of the Year for every season since 2017. Phillips won four gold medals over the weekend to bring her outdoor total to seven for her career. She set a school record in the 200m at the conference championships, clocking in at 24.68 to take the gold in the event. Her time is the second-fastest in conference history. Phillips also set the school and conference record in the 400 earlier this year with a time of 55.46 at the Bison Outdoor Classic.

Bobby Van Allen and his staff were recognized as the Coaching Staff of the Year in the conference after leading their team to a 13th straight conference title. It is the sixth time Van Allen has been named the coach of the year in the Centennial.

The Blue Jays had nine different members earn a spot on the First Team All-Centennial team for coming in first place at the championships. Kadiri (100, 100H, LJ, TJ, 4x100), Phillips (200, 400, 4x100, 4x400) and Harrinee Senthilkumar (1500, 4x400) all earned multiple gold medals and multiple spots on the first team.
