James and
Thomas Yu ended their seasons in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships Saturday at the USTA National Campus.
Thomas Yu ended his run in the NCAA Singles Championship with a loss in the semifinals. Rishabh Sharda (Tufts), the six seed, earned a spot in national championship with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Yu.
The Yus then faced off against top-seeded Vishwa Aduru and James Hopper (Case Western) in the semifinals of the doubles draw. The pair, that just won the NCAA Team Championship four days ago, entered the match riding a 24-match win streak. Aduru and Hopper beat the Yus 6-1, 6-0, to advance to Sunday's national title match.
Thomas Yu finishes the season with a 24-10 singles record and earns All-America honors for the second straight season. He is 59-16 in his career in singles and ranks eighth in wins in JHU history.
James Yu and
Thomas Yu went a combined 25-8 on the season and earned All-America honors for the first time in doubles.
Thomas Yu is the sixth player in program history to earn All-America honors in singles and doubles in the same season.
James Yu went 26-8 overall in doubles and finishes the season with a career record of 49-12. His 49 wins are tied for 19
th in program history.
Thomas Yu went 28-8 overall in doubles and is 59-16 for his career. His 59 wins are tied for ninth in program history.
