BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins men's swim team returned to the Newton White Aquatic Center for the first time in more than two months and grabbed a pair of dual meet wins. Hopkins beat New York University, 161-101 and defeated The College of New Jersey, 174-88. The Blue Jays won eight of the 14 events in the double dual meet.
Hopkins kicked off the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay. Sophomore

Christian Mayr grabbed the win by 0.18 seconds as they finished in 1:32.56. Senior
Kellen Roddy then earned the first of his two wins on the day as he clocked in with a winning time of 9:29.18 in the 1000 Free. Junior
Jonik Surprenant finished in fifth place with a time of 9:57.68.

Jay Heymann took second place in the 200 Free in 1:43.01, beating NYU's Kevin Wu to the wall by just seven-hundredths of a second. Fershman
Adam Sandid followed in fourth place with a time of 1:44.08. Senior
Reef Ide followed with a close win in the 100 Back, as he touched in 51.51 to win by four-hundredths of a second. Lloyd finished in third place with a time of 51.75.
Limberg led a contingent of Blue Jays that went one-three-four in the 100 Breast. Limberg won the event with a time of 56.82. Sophomore
Andrew Huang took third in 58.64 and junior
Nathan Lin followed seven-hundredths of a second later for fourth. JHU then took second through fifth in the 200 Fly. Clapp led the way for the Blue Jays with a time of 1:51.43, just five-hundredths of a second out of first. Graduate student
Ike Shirakata took third in 1:55.50, just edging out freshman
Rad Couture by one-hundredth of a second. Sophomore
Matthew Hartshorn took fifth place in 1:56.11.
Mayr then finished second in the 50 Free as he clocked in with a time of 21.27. Heymann followed with a second-place finish in the 100 Free in 46.70. Mayr finished in fourth place with a time of 47.32. Lloyd led JHU in the 200 Back with a third-place finish in 1:54.03 and Hartshorn took fifth place in 1:55.39. Junior
Eric Ji got the Blue Jays back in the win column as he beat the field in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:06.15. Graduate student
Brandon Stride finished in third place as he touched in 2:06.71, just seven-hundredths of a second out of second. Huang followed in fifth place with a time of 2:09.85.
Roddy then cruised to a nine-second win in the 500 Free as he touched the wall in 4:34.88. Suprenant finished in sixth place in 4:49.24. JHU followed with a second through fifth place showing in the 200 IM. Freshman
Will Dunlap took second in 1:55.11 and junior
Joe Castagno placed third in 1:56.23. Ji finished in 1:56.43 for fourth place and junior
Nathan Jin touched in 1:57.43 for fifth.
JHU ended the day with first and fourth place finishes in the 400 Free Relay. Lloyd, Clapp, Heymann and Mayr earned the win with a time of 3:05.28. Sandid, freshman
Andrew Gilbert, Couture and Ide finished in 3:10.82 for fourth place.
Hopkins returns to the pool on Saturday, January 20 as the Blue Jays travel to Franklin & Marshall.
