Maddie Huang each placed in the top-15 at the 44
th annual Coach Nikki Franke Classic, hosted by Temple, on Saturday. This is the second straight year that JHU has had at least two fencers finish in the top-15.
Wu led the Blue Jays with a 13
th place finish, out of 80 fencers, in the Foil. She was also the top Division III fencer in the Foil. She went 6-2 in pool play and then 2-1 in the elimination round, falling to the number two seed, to finish with an 8-3 mark on the day. Junior
Bethany Lee finished in 28
th place with a 5-5 record on the day. She went 4-4 in pool play and then beat freshman
Adrianne Lin in the round of 64. Lee then lost in the round of 32 to the number two seed.
Lin placed 37
th in her collegiate debut with a 5-4 record. She went 5-3 in pool play before falling to Lee in the elimination round. Sophomore
Sophia Baleeiro took 49
th place in her collegiate debut. She finished pool play with a 3-5 record and then lost in the round of 64.
Huang led the Blue Jays in the Sabre with her 15
th place finish, out of 77 fencers. She was also the second highest finisher among Division III fencers. Huang went 6-2 in pool play and then advanced to the round of 16 in elimination to finish with an 8-3 record. Sophomore
Adele Dai just finished outside the top-20, as she went 6-4 to place 21
st. Dai went 5-3 in pool play and then 1-1 in elimination. Freshman
Jessie Tong took 27
th place with a 7-3 record. She also finished pool play with a 6-2 record but then lost in the round of 32.

Maya Balakumaran placed 28
th and sophomore
Ky McSweeney placed 29
th. Balakumaran went 5-3 in pool play, while McSweeney went 5-4. Both lost in the round of 32, going 1-1, to finish 6-4 and 6-5 respectively. McSweeney's loss in the elimination round came to the number one seed. Sophomore
Lauren Prieur took 39
th place with a 5-4 record. She finished pool play with a 5-3 record and then lost in the round of 64.
Sophomore
Mariela Abramson, also making her Hopkins' debut, led the Blue Jays in the Epee with a 28
th place finish, out of 88 fencers. She finished pool play with a 4-4 record and then went 1-1 in the elimination round, falling to the number two seed to post a 5-5 record. Sophomore
Anika Kale finished in 34
th place with a 4-5 record. She went 4-4 in pool play and then lost in the first round of elimination. Sophomore
Janie McSweeney took 41
st place with a 4-6 record. She was 4-5 in pool play and then lost in the round of 64.
Senior
Ameera Ebrahim placed 49
th after going 2-7 on the day. She finished pool play with a 2-6 mark and then lost in the round of 64. Senior
Katelyn McShine finished in a tie for 55
th place with a 3-6 record. She went 3-5 in pool play and then lost in the first round of elimination.
