Marco Azar has been named the Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week. This is his first career player of the week honor and he is the first Blue Jay to earn the honor since April 11, 2023.
Azar went 3-0 in doubles and 2-1 in singles for the Blue Jays in California. He and
Daniel Ardila paired for an 8-4 win at number one doubles against fifth-ranked Tufts. His only loss of the week (7-5, 6-2) at sixth singles versus the Jumbos. He and Ardila won 8-6 at number one doubles over the 20th-ranked pair from Caltech. Azar then won 6-1, 7-6 (3) at six singles against the 25th-ranked Beavers. He and Ardila closed out the week with an 8-5 win at number doubles against George Fox. Azar won 6-1, 6-3 at number five singles as the Blue Jays beat the 33rd-ranked Bruins.
Hopkins returns to action on Tuesday, April 2 at Gettysburg. The Centennial Conference match is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
