Eggleston Garners Centennial Pitcher of the Week Honors

LANCASTER, PA – After helping the Blue Jays secure the top seed in this weekend's Centennial Conference Tournament, Johns Hopkins baseball's Cole Eggleston has been named the Centennial Pitcher of the Week. This is the graduate student's first conference honors of the season and makes him the fifth different Blue Jay to be recognized.

Eggleston put together his best outing of the season in his lone appearance against Gettysburg, entering in relief in the third inning and going on to toss a season-high four shutout innings, allowing just three hits and fanning three while the Blue Jays continued to build their lead. For his efforts the graduate student earned his second win of the year to move to 2-0, with the victory also securing Hopkins the No. 1 seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the second straight season.

Across nine appearances Eggleston's ERA now sits at 3.46, dropping to an even more impressive 1.29 in four Centennial Conference games, as the graduate student and the rest of Hopkins' roster appears to be peaking at the right time heading into the postseason.
