LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team is the unanimous preseason favorite to win the 2024 Centennial Conference Championship in a poll of the league's head coaches. The Blue Jays earned 10 first-place votes and a total of 100 points to sit atop the poll.
Hopkins earns the top spot in the preseason poll for the fifth straight year. The Blue Jays would go on to win the Centennial Conference title in each of the previous four seasons.
Swarthmore was picked second in the poll with one first-place vote and 88 points. Franklin & Marshall took third place with 77 points, while Bryn Mawr (73 points) and Ursinus (69 points) round out the top five. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own team.
Hopkins kicks off the season on Friday, August 30 against Shenandoah at Homewood Field. JHU opens Centennial Conference play on Wednesday, September 25 versus McDaniel.
