Johns Hopkins Ranked Second in NFHCA Preseason Poll

BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team is ranked second in the 2024 Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Preseason Coaches Poll it was announced today. This is the third straight year the Blue Jays are ranked second in the poll and it is the fifth consecutive year that JHU is ranked in the top-five in the preseason.
 
Hopkins is coming off its fifth straight trip to the NCAA Final Four and third straight appearance in the national championship game. The Blue Jays went 21-2 last season and won their fifth consecutive Centennial Conference Championship.
 
JHU earned one first-place vote and 1,440 points in the preseason poll. Defending champion Middlebury earned the top spot with 60 first-place votes and 1,594 points. Babson, Salisbury and Messiah round out the top-five. The Blue Jays will face eight teams ranked in the preseason coaches poll, including three in the top-10.
 
Hopkins is set to open the season on Friday, August 30 versus 20th-ranked Shenandoah. The non-conference contest is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start at Homewood Field.
