GETTYSBURG, PA – Second-ranked Johns Hopkins got a goal each in the last three quarters to shutout host Gettysburg, 3-0, Wednesday night. The Blue Jays run their win streak to 15 as they improve to 16-1 overall and 9-0 in the Centennial Conference. The Bullets slip to 8-9 on the season and 3-6 in the conference.
Gettysburg held Hopkins scoreless for more than 26 minutes but then the Blue Jays struck twice in less than six minutes.
Julia Widen opened the scoring with 3:38 left in the second quarter.

Caeli Robinson, who redirected it into the circle. Widen collected the ball off the defender's stick, turned and fired a shot inside the right post to put JHU up 1-0.
Hopkins needed just one minute and 59 seconds of the third quarter to push its lead to two. Off a

Ada Farmer sent the ball towards the cage, where it snuck past Bullets' goalie Emilia Saccento.
Grace Waldeck pushed the loose ball to Albano on the post and she knocked it home.
Megan Chang capped the scoring with 40 seconds to play in the game with her team-leading eighth goal of the season. Albano back-handed a shot on cage but Saccento turned it away. The ball came right to Chang, who slotted a low shot into the cage.
Aubrey Kilgore and
Jessica Lapidus combined for the shutout while not facing a shot in the cage. Saccento finished with six saves in the loss for the Bullets. Hopkins outshot Gettysburg, 18-1, and had an 11-0 advantage in corners.

Hopkins wraps up the regular season on Saturday, November 1 versus Muhlenberg. The Centennial Conference game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start. Hopkins will honor its seniors and graduate students prior to the game.
