ANNAPOLIS, MD – Johns Hopkins wrapped up its fall season at the Navy Blinds this past weekend, competing against Navy, Loyola and Towson.
Kamila Wong highlighted the weekend as she earned her 100
th career win, becoming just the eighth player in program history to do so.
Hopkins swept all nine matches against Loyola on Saturday.
Sophia Kim and
Sydney Langer beat Victoria Epps and Christine Richeiz, 7-5.
Sahana Madala and
Jay Xiao won 6-2 over Kate Agnew and Emi Shivkumar.
Aubrey Zhou and
Karah Li lost just one game in their win over Lily Langhus and Katie Moorehead. In singles, the Blue Jays won all six matches in straight sets.
Sahana Sanjeev beat Richeiz 6-4, 6-3 while
Claire Loftus topped Epps 7-6 (3), 6-3.
Lia Melvin won 6-0, 6-2 over Agnew and Wong earned her milestone win with a 7-6 (1), 6-3 win over Langhus.
Ava Li and
Isabel He each won their matches over Sabrina Grewal and Moorehead without losing a game.
The Blue Jays and Tigers played just three doubles matches in their meeting, with the Blue Jays winning all three. Wong and Kim beat Kiersten Tambe and Chandre Boshoff 6-3. Loftus and Li paired for a 6-2 win over Tamzin Pountney and Aubrey Carper. And Sanjeev and He beat Sania Suchinsky and Ashira Murray, 6-2.
Hopkins wrapped up the weekend on Sunday against host Navy. The Blue Jays swept the doubles matches, but the Mids claimed all six singles matches. Wong and Li grabbed a 6-2 win over Sydney Fuger and Anna Jordaan. Madala and Loftus topped Jina Cha and Manci Pal 6-4 and Kim and Melvin beat Ji Soo Oh and Anna Wiskowski 6-2. In singles, Olivia Fermo won a tight 7-5, 6-3 match over Madala. Nicole Fu won 7-6 (0), 6-2 over He and Grace Li on 6-4, 6-1 over Langer. Molly Bellia pulled out a three-setter over Xiao 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (6). Emma Gu won 6-3, 6-3 over Zhou and Peyton Amspacher-Philemon prevailed in three sets over
Karah Li 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (6).
