Blue Jays Grab a Pair of Top Seven National Marks

BOSTON, MA / PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Johns Hopkins men's indoor track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend with several strong performances on Saturday.  The Blue Jay DMR team dropped a national top-five time at the Tufts Stampede Open while a number of other Blue Jays turned in notable efforts at the Widener DII/DIII Challenge.

DMR Team Posts Nation's Fourth-Best Time
The Johns Hopkins Distance Medley Relay Team of Aiden Tomov, Alex Colletti, Fisayo Omonije and Lucas Rackers was the lone Blue Jay entry at the Tufts Stampede on Saturday and the foursome made its mark.  In a highly-competitive field, the Blue Jays crossed in 9:56.55 to place third overall with the fourth-best time in the nation by a DMR team this season. The mark is also the third-best in Johns Hopkins history and just the third sub-10-minute mark in program history.

Adeniran Leads JHU at Widener
Roughly 300 miles south of where the DMR team was dropping the nation's fourth-best time in Boston, sophomore Oluwademilade Adeniran was busy etching his own name onto the national leaderboard in Philadelphia.  Competing in the triple jump, he marked at 14.42-meters on his sixth and final jump to place second overall with seventh-best jump in the nation this season.  The mark is a personal-best and gives him two of the four all-time jumps above 14-meters in program history; both of his jump above 14-meters have come this season.

In addition to Adeniran's efforts, other highlights at Widener included the following:

• Sean Enright placed fourth in the 3,000 with a season-best time of 8:35.78.
• Peter Lim tied his season best effort in the Pole Vault with a jump of 4.40-meters.
• In a 67-man field in the 800-meter run, the Blue Jays had three finishers in the top 25 in Ani Krishnan (12th/1:57.59), Aiden Deffner (15th/1:57.90) and Arjun Subramanian (25th/1:59.57).  The mark for Deffner was a season best, while Subramanian clocked a personal-best on the day.  This was the first time Krishnan has run the event.
• In the Long Jump, Ethan Oluwole placed eighth with a mark of 6.57-meters. This is the best jump by a Blue Jay this season in the event.  Wech Ring added a season-best leap of 6.06-meters.
• A season-best mark of 13.21 meters gave Ryan Braga 20th-place finish in the shot put in a field of 40 competitors.
