Box Score CLAREMONT, CA – Johns Hopkins fell to eighth-ranked Bowdoin, 5-2, on Tuesday in the second match of its West Coast trip. The Blue Jays fall to 2-3 on the season while the Polar Bears improve to 6-0.
 
Hopkins took an early 1-0 lead as the Blue Jays won two of the three doubles' matches. Mick Tamas and Aden Dorros earned the first win of the match as the Bowdoin duo won 64 over Marco Azar and Mukundh Boopathi at number three. Hopkins answered with wins at one and two to take the doubles' point. Daniel Ardila and Dylan Blenkiron beat Pieter Breuker and Kiran Garapati, 6-4, at one. Allen Gong and Chakor Rajendra then secured the point with a 6-4 win over Mark Kneiss and Jackson Codd at number two.
 
 The Polar Bears responded by winning five of six singles' matches to take the win. Four of the six matches went to three sets. Codd took a 6-2, 6-1 win over Hanyu Liu at number three and in the only other match that went straight sets, Garapati beat Azar in a tight 7-5, 6-4 match at six.
 
Kneiss won 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 over Rajendra at number one. Ardila picked up the Jays' singles' point when he rallied to beat Breuker 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2) at two. Andrew Mendelson won 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 over Blenkiron at four. Cameron Zia beat Zahari Stoimenov 7-6 (6), 3-6, 1-0 (2) at five.
 
Hopkins returns to the court on Wednesday, March 19 as the Blue Jays take on third-ranked Tufts.
