Zheng Places 16th at NCAAs; Breaks Career Foil Wins Record

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Johns Hopkins senior Alan Zheng wrapped up his standout career on Friday at the NCAA Fencing Championships. He finished in 16th place and became the program's all-time wins leader in the Foil.

Zheng entered the championship six wins shy of Kevin Little's career record of 337 wins. He surpassed Little's record, which had stood since 2001, in the second round. Zheng finished the two-day competition with an 11-12 record to place 16th. He was one of just two Division III fencers competing at the championships.

Zheng went 80-41 (.661) this season and finishes his career with a record of 342-190 (.643). He also sports an all-weapons record of 345-193 (.641). The 345 wins rank second all-time in Johns Hopkins history among all weapons.

The NCAA Championships continue with the women's competition on Saturday and Sunday. Johns Hopkins currently sits in 19th place with 11 points.
