Rajendra rallied after dropping his first set in a tiebreaker, to beat 36
th-ranked Jake Cohen from Colby. After falling 7-6 (3) in the first set, Rajendra took the second 6-3 and then cruised to a 6-1 win in the deciding set. He then beat NYU's Boren Zheng in straight sets to punch his ticket to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Rajendra pulled out a first-set tiebreak win, 7-6 (3), and then took the second set 6-3.
Rajendra secured All-America honors with his first-round win on Friday. He is the ninth Blue Jay to earn All-America honors for single with the nine players combining for 21 honors. Rajendra will now take on seventh-ranked Noah Laber on Saturday, May 24.
In the doubles draw, Ardila and Blenkiron faced off against 11
th-ranked Patricio Garcia Muriel Pasquel and Stefan Hester from Washington University. The Bears' duo pulled out a tough 6-4, 6-4 win over Ardila and Blenkiron to advance to the quarterfinals.
Ardila finishes his career with 73 career doubles wins, sixth most in school history. In addition, he boasts 125 combined wins (52 singles, 73 doubles). The 125 wins ranks eighth in Johns Hopkins history.
