BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins placed six Blue Jays on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team. The six student-athletes represent three sports – fencing, water polo and wrestling.
 
First, Second and Third Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Wednesday, July 9. Sports included in the Men's At-Large category include fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling. Nominees must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve.
 
Earning CSC Academic All-District honors are Alec Baker (water polo), Jorge Gana (fencing), Alex Jeffords (fencing), Freddy Pimental (wrestling), Ian Raley (water polo) and Alan Zheng (fencing).
 
The Blue Jay men's fencing program has now produced 16 CSC Academic All-District selections, including nine in the last three seasons. Pimental is just the fourth wrestler to earn the honor and the third in the last three years. The Blue Jay water polo program has now produced 12 CSC Academic All-District honorees, with five of those 12 coming in the last five years.

• 2023 Honorable Mention ACWPC All-American
• Led team in steals (60) and ranked 2^nd in blocks (16) in 2024
• Totaled 51 goals, 23 assists, 41 ejections drawn in 2024
• Notched at least one point in 31 of 35 games
• Ranks 12^th in JHU history in career blocks (24), 19^th in steals (105), 20^th in ejections drawn (78)

• Two-time USFCA Mid-Atlantic/South All-Region

• Led Epee squad with 86 wins in 2024-25
• Ranks 3^rd in JHU history in career Epee wins (266)

• Two-time USFCA All-American
• Two-time USFCA Mid-Atlantic/South All-Region
• Ranked 3^rd on Sabre squad with 64 wins in 2024-25
• Ranks 17^th in JHU history in career Sabre wins (183)

Major:  Molecular & Cellular Biology
• 2025 NWCA Scholar All-American
• Posted a team-best 29 wins and a 29-13 record in 2024-25
• Counted nine pins, six technical falls and six major decisions
• Placed fourth at 2025 Centennial Conference Championships
• Has a career record of 49-27 with 17 pins, 10 technical falls and nine major decisions to his credit

Major: Electrical Engineering
• Totaled 49 goals, 26 assists, 12 ejections drawn, 17 steals, 13 blocks
• Ranked 3rd on the team in blocks
• Notched at least one point in 30 of 34 games
• Ranks 18^th in JHU history in career points (221), 19^th in goals (150), 21^st in assists (71), 8^th in blocks (34)
