Kotler Named Centennial XC Athlete of the Week

First Career Conference Honor for the Freshman

LANCASTER, PA – Following a second overall individual performance at the Trials of Miles XC Opening Night, Johns Hopkins freshman Mia Kotler was named the Centennial Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week. This is her first career conference honor and makes her the first Blue Jay of the season to be recognized.

Kotler led the fifth-ranked Blue Jays to a team win at the Trials of Miles with a second-place finish in a field of 57 runners, covering the course in 17:37.6 to easily outpace Georgetown's Charlotte Bell, who crossed in 17:49.9 to finish third. The Blue Jays totaled 42 points to edge local Division I rivals Maryland (46), George Washington (49) and the host Hoyas (99).

Hopkins returns to the course on Friday, September 12, in Charlottesville, VA where they'll compete in the Virginia Invitational.
