INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Johns Hopkins grabbed All-America honors in the 400 Medley Relay to close out the first day of the NCAA Championships Wednesday. The Blue Jays sit in a tie for 19
th place with 12 points after day one.
The team of
Kai Henrikson-Brandt,
Larry Yu,
Avery Clapp and
Michael Ivanov finished in 3:14.96 to take third in the consolation final and 11
th overall. The Blue Jays' beat the team from Carnegie Mellon by just one-tenth of a second for third place. The quartet's time of 3:14.96 is the sixth fastest in program history. In addition, Henrikson-Brandt's leadoff leg of 47.86 is the fourth fastest in JHU history.
Henrikson-Brandt, Yu, Clapp and Ivanov earn All-America honors with their finish. It is the 16
th straight year that JHU has earned All-America honors in the 400 Medley Relay.
