INDIANAPOLIS, IN –
Avery Clapp and
Bryce Lloyd earned First Team All-America honors in the 200 Back on the fourth and final day of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships Saturday. The Blue Jays finished in ninth place with 123 total points, edging Washington University by just one point. In total, 11 Blue Jays combined to earn 19 All-America honors at the championships.
Clapp shaved 1.32 seconds off his prelim time to finish in third place in the championship final of the 200 Back. His swim of 1:44.53 is the third fastest in program history and he now owns the top six times. It is Clapp's second top-three finish in the 200 Back and he earns First Team All-America honors for the third time in the event. He earned four All-America honors at the championships and now counts 22 in his career. The 22 All-America honors are tied for fifth most in Johns Hopkins history.
Lloyd swam to a seventh-place finish in the championship final of the 200 Back with a finals swim of 1:46.46. His prelim time of 1:46.05 is a career best. Lloyd earns All-America honors in the event for the third time in his career, and his second First Team accolade. He picked up a pair of All-America honors in 2026 and finishes his career with eight total All-America honors.
