BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team wrapped up competition Saturday across the Paul Donahue Invitational, Navy Spring Invitational and Morgan State Legacy Meet, combining for 35 top-25 finishes and multiple performances that rank among the best in program history and Division III this season.
Competing as the lone Blue Jay at the Navy Spring Invitational,
Claudia Ouimet rewrote the record book for the second consecutive day. In the heptathlon, Ouimet placed second overall with a program-record 5,120 points. Her day-two performances were highlighted by a third-place finish in the long jump (5.48m), the sixth-best mark in program history.
At the Morgan State Legacy Meet,
Dominique Thomas delivered one of the top performances of the weekend. She placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.70, which ranks fourth in Division III this season and sets both a school and Centennial Conference record.
Thomas also teamed with
Mirra Klimov,
Chloe Zhang and
Ellie Lewis to continue their record-breaking success in the 4x100-meter relay. For the second straight week, the quartet reset the program and conference record with a fourth-place finish in 46.65—now the sixth-fastest time in Division III this season.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of
Gabrielle Moore,
Lianne Saussy,
Lorna Arcese and
Madison Moore placed second in 3:49.54, the fifth-fastest time in program history.
Gabrielle Moore led three Blue Jays to top-10 finishes in the 400-meter dash, placing eighth in 57.33.
Madison Moore followed in ninth with a personal-best 57.47—ranking 60
th nationally and fifth all-time at Hopkins—while Saussy placed 10
th with a personal-best 57.59, good for 66
th nationally and seventh in program history.
Klimov and Lewis each turned in strong performances in the 200-meter dash. Klimov placed seventh in 25.01, the 40
th-fastest time in the nation, while Lewis finished 14
th in 25.15, ranking 55
th nationally and third all-time in program history.
Ani Wedemeyer added a runner-up finish in the 800 meters (2:12.22), while
Evelyne Kim placed 13
th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.12).
Jaclyn Donoho led a trio of Blue Jays in the 100-meter hurdles, placing 14
th in 15.99. Kim (18
th, 16.72) and
Julia Widen (20
th, 16.94) also recorded top-20 finishes.
In the field events, Zhang highlighted the meet with a third-place finish in the long jump. Her personal-best leap of 5.71 meters ranks 11
th in Division III this season and fourth in program history.
Clarissa Newman cleared 3.61 meters to place second in the pole vault, while Donoho added an eighth-place finish in the high jump (1.50m).
In the throws,
Kellen Ievers led the Blue Jays in the discus with a seventh-place throw of 37.70 meters, the sixth-best mark in program history.
Carina Beritela (16
th, 29.40m) and
Olivia Reid (24
th, 23.39m) also competed. In the shot put, Ievers placed 10
th (10.49m), followed by Beritela (18
th, 9.20m) and Widen (25
th, 6.98m).
At the Paul Donahue Invitational,
Ava Zimmerman led three Blue Jays to top-10 finishes in the 800 meters, placing second in 2:14.83, which ranks 54
th nationally.
Kayla Ritzman finished sixth (2:18.56) and
Alexa Christensen placed eighth (2:19.02).
Ia Reistad paced a trio in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing seventh in 11:28.81.
Evangeline Dunckley followed in eighth (11:35.34), ranking 81
st nationally, while
Reese Coughlin placed 18
th in 12:41.13.
In the 1,500 meters,
Lena Cakulev led five Blue Jays with top-25 finishes, placing 14
th in 4:48.01.
Lily Tremba (15
th, 4:49.11),
Ainsley Edwards (19
th, 4:51.45),
Mika Tampadong (24
th, 4:53.90) and
Amelia Giles (25
th, 4:54.01) rounded out the group.
Hopkins returns to action Thursday, April 23, splitting squads between the Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, and the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University.
