FAIRFAX, VA – The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational on Saturday, hosted by George Mason University, recording three top-10 finishes across nine events while also posting several marks that rank among the program's all-time best and within Division III this season.
Although he finished just outside the top 10,
Tyler Caswell delivered one of the Blue Jays' standout performances on the final day. He clocked a personal-best 15.17 in the 110-meter hurdles to place 12
th overall. Caswell was the second-fastest Division III competitor in the field and his time ranks 58
th nationally this season and fifth all-time in program history.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Josh Lee,
Samson Dessalines,
Spencer Ye and
Michael Long turned in a strong performance, placing eighth with a time of 3:19.40. That mark ranks 21
st in Division III this season and stands as the sixth-fastest time in program history.
Ye also posted an impressive individual result in the 400-meter dash. The senior finished 23
rd overall with a time of 49.24, which ranks 65
th nationally this season and is tied for sixth all-time at Johns Hopkins.
Sebastian Tangelson and
Ted Richards accounted for the Blue Jays' remaining top-10 finishes with a pair of strong showings in the high jump. Tangelson cleared 1.80 meters to place seventh, while Richards matched the height to finish ninth.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday, April 10, when the Blue Jays split their squad between the Duke Invitational in Durham, NC, and the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, PA, hosted by Bucknell.
