Sept. 1, 2001

BALTIMORE - Johns Hopkins forward Ashley Robbins (Newtown Square, PA/Westtown School) scored with 9:12 remaining to break a 1-1 tie as the Blue Jays field hockey team defeated the University of Scranton, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Homewood Field in the season opener for both teams. Scranton had a chance to tie the game in the final 30 seconds, but could not get a shot off of two penalty corners. The final corner came as time expired.
