Box Score

BALTIMORE, MD -- Sophomore Jacob Enterlin allowed just two hits and no earned runs in seven innings and senior Kyle Neverman went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the No. 12 Johns Hopkins baseball team to a convincing 10-1 victory over Dickinson at the JHU Baseball Diamond Saturday.

Hopkins (20-2, 4-0 CC) totaled 14 hits and earned eight walks to win its 13th consecutive game and sweep Dickinson (9-13, 0-4 CC) in the season series. Enterlin earned his fifth victory of the season (5-0) in the effort.

As has become customary this season, the Blue Jays jumped on their opponent early by taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Neverman did the damage by hitting a two-run single to left field to score Adam Weiner and Ryan Zakszeski.

The Red Devils tallied their lone run in the fourth as Mike Adams scored from first on a misplayed pop fly by second baseman Adam Weiner.

Hopkins roared back, however, as Richie Carbone was hit by a pitch and then advanced to third with a steal followed by a sacrifice bunt by Weiner. Craig Hoelzer scored Carbone with a single to left to give JHU a 3-1 lead.

After chasing pitcher Tyler Clauson-Wolf from the game, the Blue Jays continued to swing hot bats as Ryan Zakszeski scored Chris Wilhelm with a double to right center. The senior catcher than easily scored from second on consecutive wild pitches, providing the Jays with a 5-1 cushion in the fifth.

Hopkins tacked on another run in the sixth on a Wilhelm RBI, and added three more to blow the game open in the seventh, 9-1. Jeff Lynch tallied his 15th RBI in his last eight games before Mike Denlinger knocked in a pair of runs.

The scoring was completed with a John Maxwell single up the middle to score teammate David Mampre in the eighth.

Denlinger was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs for the Jays, while Lynch and Zakszeki each scored a pair of runs. Juniors Ed Bryner and Garrick Prokos closed out the game in relief.

Hopkins returns to action tomorrow as it travels to Franklin & Marshall for a double-header beginning at 12:30 pm.
