? The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins field hockey team got goals from nine different scorers in a 12-0 win over Notre Dame of Maryland Monday night at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays broke the school record for goals in a game and four players scored their first career goal.

How it Happened
? The Blue Jays needed just 94 seconds to get on the board as sophomore Grace Hillman dribbled into the circle and fired a shot just under goalie De'Ja Martin.
? Junior Morgan Pothast staked Hopkins to a 3-0 lead at the 7:07-mark when she scored a pair of goals just 51 seconds apart. She lifted a rebound over the head of Martin for her first and then scored on long, low shot from the top of the circle.
? Senior co-captain Alex Clay pushed the lead to four when she banged home a rebound at the left post at 10:36. Sophomore Claire Fox followed with back-to-back goals in an 85-second span and the Jays' led 6-0 at 18:23.
? Junior Princess Sutherland sandwiched a pair of goals around a strike from freshman Maddie Stabinksi and the lead was eight at 27:57. Stabinski took a pass from senior Lindsey Adams, dribbled in and scored on a shot to the left post.
? Sophomore Lucy Reider got on the board with just 17 seconds to play in the half when she took a pass from senior Abby Grant, off a penalty corner, and beat Martin to her right side.
? Freshman Katie McErlean opened the second-half scoring at the 44:00-mark when she put back a rebound off a Francesca Cali shot. Freshman Hope Sullivan tipped in a cross-cage pass from classmate Christina Glaser with 10:15 to play to wrap up the scoring.

What it Means
? Johns Hopkins is now 22-1 all-time against Notre Dame and has won six straight in the series.
? The 12 goals scored by the Blue Jays are the most in a single-game in program history, breaking the mark of 11 set twice (2000-Notre Dame; 2000-Bryn Mawr). The 12 goals are also three shy of the Centennial Conference record.
