• The Short Story: The 15th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday over Bryn Mawr and 24th-ranked Christopher Newport.
How it Happened • Bryn Mawr
• Hopkins jumped out to a 3-0 lead as the Blue Jays dropped just five games in sweeping the doubles matches.
• Freshman Sophia Strickland and sophomore Kimberly Zou needed just eight games to earn a win over Eram Haider and Sydney Kim at first.
• Sophomores Katie Gauch and Chrissy Simon beat Caroline Horvatits and Lizzie Siegle, 8-2, at second.
• Freshman Prerna Singh and junior Sunaina Vohra won by the same score at third over Mariam Haider and Julia Holeman.
• Simon then won her singles match at second without losing a game against Eram Haider.
• Vohra and senior Anna Kankanala were nearly as perfect as they each lost just one game in their wins. Vohra defeated Kim 6-0, 6-1 at third and Kankanala won by the same score over Horvatits at fourth.
• Strickland earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Siegle at first and Gauch won 6-3, 6-0 over Mariam Haider at fifth.
• Alice Prodosky picked up the Owls' only point of the match with a 6-3, 7-5 win at sixth over sophomore Mika Inadomi.

• The visiting Captains grabbed a 3-0 lead on the Blue Jays after winning all three doubles matches.
• Alexandre Drye and McKinney Harwood beat Kankanala and senior Ashnaa Rao, 8-2, at first.
• Kate Huck and Johanna Ranta-aho won at second, beating junior Caroline Greydak and senior Jody Law 8-4.
• Emily Morgan and Isabelle Wessel completed the sweep with an 8-6 win over Strickland and Zou at third.
• Hopkins responded by winning five of the six singles matches to earn the come-from-behind win. Rao won 6-3, 6-2 at first over Harwood.
• Ranta-aho earned the lone doubles point for the Captains with a 7-6, (2), 6-3 win at second over Law.
• Strickland grabbed her third win of the day as she beat Huck 7-6 (3), 6-2 at third.
• Zou picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Wessel at fifth and Simon won 6-0, 6-3 at sixth over Morgan.
• Greydak clinched the win for the Blue Jays when she prevailed in three sets over Drye 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 20-2 all-time against Bryn Mawr and has won 15 straight in the series.
• Saturday's match was the first ever meeting between Hopkins and Christopher Newport.
• The Blue Jays have now won six straight after starting the season at 1-3.
