The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins water polo team dropped a pair of Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference matches to Fordham and Wagner Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened • Fordham
• Fordham struck first with a goal from Phillip Wang just 27 seconds in and freshman
Emerson Sullivan tied the match at one with 2:36 to go in the quarter. The Rams answered with three straight to take a 4-1 lead after one.
• Fordham picked up where it left off, scoring the first four goals of the second quarter to push out to an 8-1 lead. Sophomore
Nico Ivanov scored at the 2:03-mark to end the run and spark one for Hopkins that bridged halftime. Sullivan netted his second of the game with just 13 seconds remaining in the half to make it an 8-3 game.

Giorgio Cico traded goals before Fordham scored three unanswered to go up 12-6. Senior
Andreas Katsis had the final say of the game, scoring with 45 ticks remaining to account for the 12-7 final. Â Â

How it Happened • Wagner
• With the game tied at two with 3:30 to play in the opening quarter, Wagner reeled off four unanswered goals in less than two minutes. Katsis ended the run with a five-meter goal with 45 seconds to play but a Jordi Alonso goal nine seconds later, made it 7-3 after one.
• The Seahawks came out firing in the second, outscoring the Blue Jays, 5-1, in the quarter to take a 12-4 lead at the half.
• Sullivan and Ivanov sandwiched a pair of goals around one from Teo Dadic early in the third and the lead was seven. The Seahawks then scored four unanswered to push out to a 16-6 lead with 4:11 left in the period. Katsis ended the run with his third of the game, but Jasmin Kolasinac answered and the lead was 10 through three.
• Hopkins would outscore Wagner, 5-3, in the fourth but could get no closer than seven.

Inside the Box Score
• Cico led the Blue Jays with five points (1g, 4a) against the Rams while Ivanov (2g) and Sullivan (2g, 1a) also had multi-point games.
• Ivanov also drew four ejections and Sullivan had two steals and two drawn ejections. Senior
Spencer Witte made 13 saves and had a pair of steals in the loss.
• Against the Seahawks, Katsis led the Blue Jays with four goals and five points. Sullivan totaled four points (2g, 2a) while junior
Finn Banks handed out three assists.
• Witte played the first 14 and a half minutes and made a pair of saves. Cico came on in relief and made six saves to go with three saves.
