LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins women's tennis team has been picked to repeat as Centennial Conference champions in a preseason vote of the conference's coaches. The Blue Jays have won 12 straight Centennial Conference championships since 2007.
Hopkins received 10 first-place votes and a total of 100 points to grab the top spot in the poll. Swarthmore picked up the remaining first-place vote and 90 points to come in second in the poll. Haverford (81 points), Franklin & Marshall (71) and Washington College (63) round out the top five.
Hopkins went 18-5, including 10-0 in the conference, last season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago. The Blue Jays return four All-Centennial Conference selections in senior
Kimberly Zou, junior
Sophia Strickland and sophomores
Anjie Kashyap and
Dhanya Asokumar. Hopkins will open the season on Saturday, March 2 at Navy (2 pm).
