BALTIMORE, MD – On Tuesday, Johns Hopkins field hockey senior
Maddie Brown-Scherer has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first conference weekly honor in her career. On Wednesday morning, Brown-Scherer added NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Brown-Scherer led Hopkins to a 2-0 week with two goals and two assists. She had a goal and two assists in the Blue Jays' shutout of Dickinson on Wednesday. She then scored to give Hopkins a 2-0 lead at Haverford in what ended up being a 2-1 Blue Jays' win over the Fords.
Brown-Scherer leads the Blue Jays (10-0, 3-0 CC) in points (15) and assists (5) and is tied for the team-lead in goals.
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, October 6 as the Blue Jays visit the Gettysburg Bullets. Game time at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium is slated for 4:00 pm.
