STATE COLLEGE, PA – Johns Hopkins sophomore
Alexandra McDonald finished in 19
th place at the 2021 NCAA Championships this weekend at Penn State University.
The only women's Division III fencer selected to the championship field, McDonald won four of her 20 bouts and scored 53 touches. She placed 19
th out of 23 in the women's foil. She finishes the season with a 17-18 record and is now tied for 25
th in school history with 74 career foil wins. With McDonald's four wins, Johns Hopkins finished 19
th in the team standings, its highest finish ever at the NCAA Championships. This was the women's fencing team's first appearance at the NCAA Championships since 2001.
