BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins placed six fencers on the 2026 United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) All-America Team.
Josephine Chang and
Nina Markovsky were named to the first team,
Julianna Wu and
Nicole Wu were named to the second team and
Maddie Huang and
Rosy Cepero were named honorable mention.
The USFCA recognizes National Collegiate All-Americans for outstanding performances at NCAA Championships. The top 12 finishers in each event, regardless of Division, are recognized based on their final placement at the competition. In addition, the USFCA recognizes the top Division III fencers in the country with Division III All-American awards. The recipients of these awards are determined by an evaluation of their regular season performance and postseason performance, including both NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships.
Since the inception of the USFCA Division III All-America teams in 2021, Johns Hopkins has produced 27 All-Americans. Twelve of the 27 earned First Team accolades. Hopkins' six All-America selections are the most of any Division III team in the nation.
Chang is the first Blue Jay to earn All-America honors four times and is the only three-time First Team selection. She posted a 68-24 record this season and finished her career with a 353-131 mark. Her 353 wins are second most in program history in the Sabre. Chang led the Sabre squad in wins and was fourth overall on the team. She ended her career with a13th place finish at the NCAA Regional.
Markovsky is just the second freshman to earn First Team All-America honors in JHU history. She went 75-28 this season and ranked second overall on the Foil squad in wins. She placed 14
th at the NCAA Regional and her 75 wins are fourth most by a freshman Foilist in program history.
Wu earns All-America honors for the second time in her career after finishing with a 62-31 record this season. She placed 18
th at the NCAA Regional and ranked third on the Foil squad in wins. Wu was named Second Team All-EWFC and ranks 11
th in JHU history with 166 career Foil wins.
Yu joins Markovsky as just the sixth and seventh freshmen in program history to earn All-America honors. She led the Epee squad in wins, going 75-27 on the season. The 75 wins are third most by a freshman in the Epee in JHU history. Yu placed third at the NIWFA Championship and finished in 16
th at the NCAA Regional.
Cepero earns All-America honors for the second straight year after going 80-3 this season. She led the Foil squad and the team in wins. It is the third time in her career that she has led the Foil squad in wins. Cepero finished her career as the program wins' lead in the Foil (310) and she ranks third in wins among all weapons. She placed fifth at the NIWFA Championship and 22
nd at the NCAA Regional.
Huang earns All-America honors for the first time in her career. She went 41-17 this season and placed 23
rd at the NIWFA Championship. She is 84-36 in her career and already ranks 21
st in program history in career Sabre wins.
