BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins field hockey garnered numerous academic honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) it was announced recently. The Blue Jays placed a school-record and national-best 31 student-athletes on the 2021 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad, boasted five Scholars of Distinction and posted the fifth-best team GPA.
The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the academic year. The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the academic year. The Blue Jays have now produced 123 national academic squad selections and 12 Scholars of Distinction under fifth-year head coach

The NFHCA National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the academic year. Hopkins had an impressive 3.72 team GPA in the fall of 2021, the fifth best GPA in Division III.
