BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins senior
Amanda Ruci has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week. This is this first conference weekly honor of her career.
Ruci went 2-0 in singles to help Johns Hopkins complete an undefeated Centennial Conference regular season and secure the top seed in the conference tournament. She lost just one game in her straight-sets win at fourth singles versus Dickinson. Ruci followed that with a huge win on senior day. She won 7-6 (2), 7-5 at sixth singles, the final match of the contest, to clinch a 5-4 win over #27 Swarthmore and the Centennial regular season title.
Hopkins returns to the court on Saturday, May 7 in the Centennial Conference Semifinals. JHU will take on the winner of Washington College and Franklin & Marshall at 3:00 pm.
