LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins seniors
Alexis Loder and
Siena Urbanski earned Centennial Conference Player of the Week honors it was announced today. Loder was tabbed as the conference's defensive player of the week, while Urbanski was selected as the offensive player of the week.
This is the first time Hopkins has swept the conference player of the week honors this season. JHU last did so on November 1, 2022. This is Loder's second career weekly honor from the conference, while it is Urbanski's third. Loder and Urbanski led Johns Hopkins to a pair of road wins at McDaniel and 24
th-ranked Swarthmore.
Loder surrendered just one goal in the two wins last week. She made three saves in the second half of Hopkins' 7-1 win at McDaniel on Wednesday night. She followed that with three saves to earn the shutout at the nationally-ranked Garnet on Saturday night. It was the first time the Garnet had been shutout since their season-opener.
Urbanski totaled three goals and two assists in two games last week. She scored twice and assisted on two more goals at McDaniel. She then scored on Saturday in Hopkins' shutout win at Swarthmore Saturday night.
Urbanski leads Hopkins and ranks third in the Centennial Conference in goals (9), assists (6) and points (24). Loder meanwhile leads the conference in goals against average (.567) and is second in save percentage (.816).
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, October 25 as the Blue Jays host the Dickinson Red Devils. The Centennial Conference contest is slated for a 5:00 pm start at Homewood Field.
