Siena Urbanski and junior
Liz Falterer grabbed top honors in the Centennial Conference it was announced this afternoon. Urbanski was named the Centennial Offensive Player of the Year while Falterer was tabbed the Centennial Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, the Blue Jays earned Centennial Coaching Staff of the Year accolades.
In all, five Blue Jays earned All-Centennial Conference honors. Urbanski and Falterer led the way with first team honors. Seniors
Mikayla Schoff and
Alexis Loder were named second team and junior
Jenna Halpin was named honorable mention. The Blue Jays' five all-conference selections are the most of any team.
Urbanski is the second Blue Jay to earn CC Offensive Player of the Year honors, joining Maddie Brown-Scherer (2021). She earns all-conference honors for the second straight year after picking up second team honors in 2022. Urbanski leads Hopkins in goals (10), assists (6) and points (26) this season and ranks in the top-five in the conference in all three categories. She scored the game-winning goal in the Centennial Conference title game to earn Tournament MVP honors.
Falterer is the third Hopkins player to be named CC Defensive Player of the Year, joining two-time selection
Grace Hillman (2017, 2018). She also earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career. She anchors a defense that ranks sixth in the nation in goals against average (0.57). The JHU defense allows just 6.1 shots per game, including just 3.3 shots on goal per game. Falterer is second on the team with nine goals and 26 points and also has a team-best three defensive saves.
Schoff earns Second Team All-CC honors for the second consecutive year. A standout in the midfield for the Blue Jays, she plays a key role in JHU's stingy defense. Schoff is also a key on the offensive end as she is tied for the team lead in assists (6) with Urbanski and has scored four goals for 14 total points. Schoff also has a pair of defensive saves.
Loder has played in all 19 games and started 13 with nearly 951 minutes played. She boasts a 0.44 goals against average and a .848 save percentage with a 13-0 record and seven shutouts. Loder leads the conference in goals against average, save percentage and shutouts. She ranks fourth in the nation in goals against average and is seventh in save percentage.
Halpin earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career. After missing all of last season with an injury, she has played all 19 games and started 16 in the midfield. She has scored three goals and added three assists in addition to her work defensively.
