Falterer, Urbanski and Loder Garner NFHCA All-America Honors

BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team placed a school-record three student-athletes on the NFHCA All-America team it was announced today. Senior Siena Urbanski and junior Liz Falterer were named to the first team and senior Alexis Loder was named to the second team.
 
Hopkins has now produced 26 NFHCA All-America selections, including 12 under head coach Jane Wells.
 
Falterer, Loder and Urbanski led Johns Hopkins to a 21-2 record, the program's fifth consecutive Centennial Conference (CC) Championship and third straight appearance in the national championship game. The trio each earn All-America honors for the first time in their careers.
 
The NFHCA Region V Co-Player of the Year, Falterer led a defense that ranked sixth in the nation in goals against average (0.60) and shutouts (12). Falterer had a team-best three defensive saves but also made an impact on the offensive end. She finished second on the team in goals (9) and points (22) and was tied for fourth in assists (4). Falterer was also named the CC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-CC and to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. She is tied for 19th in program history with four career defensive saves.
 
Urbanski led the Blue Jays in scoring for the second straight year. She finished with 11 goals and 28 points and was also third with six assists. Named the CC Offensive Player of the Year and the CC Tournament MVP, five of goals were game-winners, including in the CC Championship and the NCAA Second Round. Urbanski is tied for 11th in JHU history in career points (70), tied for ninth in goals (29), fourth in game-winning goals (10) and tied for 23rd in assists (23).  
 
Loder, a Second Team All-CC selection, is the first Blue Jay goalie to earn All-America honors. In addition, she is just the fifth goalie in the CC to earn All-America honors. Loder ranked fourth in Division III, and fourth across all divisions, in goals against average (0.50). She also ranked ninth in DIII, and 11th across all divisions, in save percentage (.833). She is the school record holder in career goals against average (0.64) and ranks ninth in career save percentage (.795) and third in shutouts (19). Loder also ranks 17th in career saves (124) and holds the program record for games played by a goalie (68) and wins (40). Her 0.50 goals against average and 10 shutouts this season are the second best in school history.
