LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins women's tennis graduate student
Mary Beth Hurley has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for the second time this Spring.
Hurley led Johns Hopkins to a 3-0 week, including wins over 24
th-ranked Colby and at 15
th-ranked Trinity (Texas). She went 2-0 at number two singles and 3-0 in doubles (1-0 at number 1 and 2-0 at number 2). Her win at number two doubles, with
Emily Javedan, versus Trinity came against the 16th-ranked doubles team in the nation. Hurley clinched the wins over Colby (6-3) and Trinity (6-3).
Hurley is 7-3 in singles and 10-2 in doubles this season. She also needs just seven wins to reach 100 for her career.
Hopkins (8-3, 3-0 CC) returns to action this afternoon with matches at home against Bryn Mawr and at Towson.
