Cooper Earns Centennial Player of the Week

Senior Batted .500 in a 3-0 Weekend for JHU

LANCASTER, PA- Blue Jays senior outfielder Matthew Cooper was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, it was announced earlier today. This is now back-to-back weeks where a Blue Jay has earned the award and the second time in Cooper's career he has received the honor.
 
Cooper led a Johns Hopkins offense that scored 35 runs over three games, including 23 against #1 Salisbury. Overall, in the three games, Cooper went 7-for-14 at the dish with two home runs and three RBI in a 3-0 weekend for Johns Hopkins. Cooper kicked the weekend off with a 3-for-6 performance in a 5-4 win over Johnson and Wales in which he mashed a walk-off solo shot in the bottom of the 11th to close things out. Against the Seagulls, Cooper added to his long ball total, smoking a two-run homer to go with his 3-for-4 day at the plate in Johns Hopkins 23-4 win. Cooper is the current team leader in home runs (3) and RBI (7).
 
Johns Hopkins return to action this afternoon when they play the first of a two-game series against Roanoke at Babb Field, with first pitch scheduled for 3 pm.
