AUSTIN, TX – Johns Hopkins women's tennis graduate students Anjali Devireddy and Mary Beth Hurley have been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Team it was announced today. The duo garnered second team honors and are the only two selections from the Centennial Conference (CC).
 
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or above and a starter or significant reserve. 
 
Hopkins has now produced seven CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans since 2007. Three of the seven selections have come in the last three years.
 
Devireddy earned a certificate in adolescent health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health and will attend the John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. A two-time CC Player of the Year and five-time All-CC selection, she was recently named one of four finalists for the ITA Sally Ride STEM Award. In 2022, Devireddy was named the CC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was the recipient of the ITA National Arthur Ashe Leadership Award. She finished her career with a 28-18 record in singles and a 31-10 mark in doubles. Devireddy went a combined 28-2 in conference matches.
 
Hurley joined the Blue Jays this year after a standout career at Ohio State and is pursuing a masters in nursing. She was named the CC Player of the Year and earned First Team All-CC honors in singles and doubles. She is currently ranked sixth in the Atlantic South in singles and 14^th in doubles. Hurley went 11-5 in singles and 20-2 in doubles in her first season at JHU. She also went a combined 10-0 in CC matches. For her career, she boasts a record of 55-43 in singles and 52-28 in doubles. Her 20 doubles' wins this season are tied for the fourth most in program single-season history.
