BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team is ranked second in the 2023 Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Preseason Poll it was announced today. This is the second straight year that the Blue Jays are ranked second in the preseason poll. It is also the fourth straight consecutive year that JHU is ranked in the top-five in the preseason poll.
 
Hopkins is coming off its fourth straight trip to the NCAA Final Four and second straight appearance in the national championship game. The Blue Jays went 19-4 last season and won their fourth consecutive Centennial Conference Championship.
 
Hopkins received 1630 points and one first-place vote in the coaches poll. Defending champion Middlebury is tops in the poll with 1771 points and 68 first-place votes. Rowan, Salisbury and Williams round out the top five.
 
JHU opens the season on September 2 versus 16^th-ranked Washington & Lee in Winchester, VA. The non-conference contest is slated for a 2:00 pm start.
