LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins freshman
Lia Melvin has been named the Centennial Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week it was announced this morning.
Melvin helped Hopkins to a pair of road wins to open the spring portion of its schedule. She went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles as the Blue Jays went 2-0 in conference matches this weekend. Melvin paired with
Aubrey Zhou to win 8-1 at number one doubles and then won 6-1, 6-2 at number one singles as JHU beat Muhlenberg, 9-0. The following day, she and Zhou won 8-1 at number three doubles at Franklin & Marshall. Melvin then won 6-0, 6-3 at number five singles in the Blue Jays' 9-0 win over the Diplomats.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, February 24 as the Blue Jays take on Denison and Washington & Lee in Lexington, VA.
