BALTIMORE, MD – The seventh-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team will host an NCAA Regional this weekend. The Blue Jays are making their 17^th straight NCAA Tournament appearance and earned a first-round bye. JHU (18-4) will take on 10^th-ranked Williams in the second round.
 
The Johns Hopkins Regional
In addition to Williams (14-5), Johns Hopkins will host Texas-Dallas (10-5), Albright (18-2) and ninth-ranked Washington & Lee (20-1). Texas-Dallas and Albright will meet in the first round, with the winner set to take on Washington & Lee in the second round.
 
The first-round match will take on place on Friday, May 10 at the Johns Hopkins Tennis Courts. The second-round matches will take place on Saturday, with the winners to meet in the regional final on Sunday, May 12.
 
JHU's NCAA Tournament History
The Blue Jays have made every NCAA Tournament since 2007 and are 25-17 all-time in the tournament. Hopkins has won its opening match in each of its previous 16 tournament appearances. This is the 12^th time that the Blue Jays have earned a first-round bye. JHU has made 14 appearances in the NCAA Sweet 16 and five in the Elite Eight.
 
Series History
Johns Hopkins and Williams have met seven times, with the Ephs winning all seven meetings. Four of the seven meetings have come in the NCAA Tournament. Hopkins played Washington & Lee earlier this year, with the Generals taking a 5-4 decision. W&L is 10-3 all-time against JHU, though the teams have never meet in the NCAA Tournament. Hopkins has never faced Albright or Texas-Dallas.

The winner of the Johns Hopkins Regional will take on the winner of the regional that includes Chicago, Case Western, Carleton, Wisconsin-Whitewater, Ohio Northern and Hope in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Monday, May 20 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, MO. Johns Hopkins has advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals five times (2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2022) with one NCAA Semifinals appearance (2014).
