Josephine Chang placed ninth in the Sabre at the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships. Johns Hopkins finished in 18
th place with a combined 24 points from Chang and men's Foilist
Alan Zheng. The Blue Jays' 18
th place finish is the highest of any Division III team at this year's championship. In addition, it is the best finish in school history since 1991, when JHU placed 16
th.
Chang won 13 of her 22 bouts and her ninth-place finish is the highest of any Division III fencer at the championship. It is also the highest finish, in any weapon, in program history. Chang finishes the season with an 87-41 record and her 87 wins are tied for ninth most in school single-season history in the Sabre. She also boasts a career record of 285-107. Her 285 wins are second most in the Sabre in JHU history and third among all weapons.
