Kamila Wong and
Ava Li have been selected for the 2025 NCAA Tennis Championships it was announced yesterday. Xiao earned a bid to the singles championship and Wong and Li earned a spot in the doubles championships.
The individual championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. The team championship will take place May 20-23, with the individual championships following May 24-27. The Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, CA will host both championships.
This is the fifth straight year that Johns Hopkins has had a singles player selected for the NCAA Championships. Overall, Xiao is the 10
th different Blue Jay to earn a bid to the singles championship. This is their second individual championship selection, after competing in the doubles championship in 2023 with Wong. She and Li are the sixth different doubles team to earn a bid to the NCAA.
Xiao is ranked 44
th nationally and 10
th in the Atlantic South by the ITA for singles. They are 9-12 on the season and 31-31 in their career. Wong and Li are 16-5 this season and are ranked 16
th in the nation and third in the Atlantic South. The duo's 16 wins are tied for the third most in a season by a doubles' team.
