LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team is the unanimous preseason favorite to the 2025 Centennial Conference Championship in a preseason poll of the league's head coaches. The Blue Jays earned 10 first-place votes and a total of 100 points to sit atop the poll.
Hopkins earns the top spot in the preseason poll for the sixth straight year. The Blue Jays have won six straight Centennial Conference titles under head coach
Jane Wells.
Swarthmore was picked to finish second in the poll with one first-place vote and 86 points. Ursinus is third in the poll with 79 points, followed by Franklin & Marshall (71) and Bryn Mawr (70) to round out the top five. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own team.
JHU is coming off a 19-4 season and the program's 10
th all-time Centennial Conference title. The Blue Jays return six starters from last year's squad, including NFHCA All-American
Jenna Halpin and NHFCA All-Region goalie
Aubrey Kilgore.
Hopkins will open the season on Friday, August 29 versus Washington & Lee. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Homewood Field.
