Ani Wedemeyer, earned Centennial Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors following historical performances at the Tufts Cupid Challenge and the Widener Indoor Classic.
The Blue Jays posted some of fastest and farthest marks in Division III this season, and in Division III history. Kothari and Williams have earned conference recognition for the second week in a row, while it's the first of the year for Saussy, Setton and Wedemeyer.
The Distance Medley Relay quartet of Kothari, Saussy, Wedemeyer and Setton delivered the highlight performance of the weekend at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. The Blue Jays crossed first in 11:48.90, and their converted time of 11:41.39 ranks as the fastest in Division III this season, the third-fastest in school history and the 21
st-fastest performance in Division III history.
Williams repeated as Field Athlete of the Week after posting the second-best weight throw mark in Centennial history for the second straight week. Competing at the Widener Indoor Classic, Williams placed third in the weight throw with a personal-best 17.49 meters, which ranks ninth nationally this year and second in Centennial and Hopkins history. She followed that performance with a ninth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 12.04 meters.
Johns Hopkins returns to competition on Saturday, February 28, at the Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Franklin & Marshall College. Events at the Schnader Field House are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
