Tenney Breaks Division III Freshman Record at Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins men's track & field team made the most of its final regular-season opportunity to secure qualifying marks for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Monday at the Widener Final Qualifier.

Caleb Tenney delivered the highlight performance of the day with one of the fastest 1,500-meter times in Division III history. The freshman placed second overall in a personal-best 3:41.56, a mark that shattered the school record and currently ranks second in Division III this season. In addition, Tenney's performance set a Division III freshman record and stands as the fifth-fastest time in Division III history.

Anthony Clark capped the meet with a strong showing in the 5,000 meters, placing third in a personal-best 14:06.46. The freshman's time ranks second in program history and currently sits 17th nationally this season, strengthening his position among the nation's top competitors heading into the national meet.

Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, May 13, at the AARTFC Championships, hosted by Ursinus College, for its final tune-up before the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
